A majestic city of Ethiopia, ones served as the capital of Ethiopia for more than two centuries and founded in 1636 by Emperor Fasiladas.
‘Enat Alem Gonder’ (dearest mother Gondar), was the center for Ethiopian Kings rule for hundreds of years and gifted by those kings with the heavily walled compound of Castles from the 17th/18th centuries AD, which is the main attraction to the city. Not only the Castles but also the bath of King Fasiladas, the church of Debre Birhan Selassie, Quskwam Palace, and others to mention are all heritages to attract visitors to the city.
